Hello everyone,

Some of you may have experienced some spamming activity in the past few days. Unfortunately, this will happen as time goes on and I was happy to see it was taken care of, for the time being. From what I gathered, the person who was spamming is unknown to the members he was harassing, and that he was in fact trying to record his spamming in order to make a YouTube video about Vent-Trolling.

For all members, in the future when there's another instance of harassment, it would be best to take a screen shot that includes the alias of the user who's spamming, and save it. Then, go to an Officer, General, Commander, or any moderator and inform them immediately. Remember their name, what channel they're in, how long they've been there, and if you recognize their alias at all.

Moderators, go straight to a ban, and you must provide a reason. Don't feel pressured by some loser on the internet coming into the Ventrilo that YOU moderate. Typing, "Spam", "Repeat Spammer", etc. is perfectly acceptable, and will be helpful when we want to look back on our ban records. If they begin to proxy and are continually coming into the server, contact me via AIM. It wouldn't hurt to also quickly let your peers know if there was an issue, so they can be more prepared later when they connect. Let's work as a team, and accomplish these tasks together.

Finally, as we come into the summer season, Overdosed is likely to experience an influx of population. While we are happy by this fact, just remember to be more aware for potential trolls and spammers.
