Promotion System Re Opened and ready for use!
After much testing (and we tested EVERY loop hole also.) and opinions from many members. ChoBo has redone the entire promotion system.
The goal of this new promotion system is to make promotions harder. Now only time will tell if this will acutally be effective but we hope so. After much debate and talking we believe we have figured out a effective system for promotions based on a vote and points system.
Members who are able to promote are given a certian ammount of points per vote. Higher the rank, higher the points you are given. Each rank also have a total ammount of votes you need to recieve in order to get a promotion.
When you go into the "Promote Member" console function, you will see a new navigation bar (much like the upload system and private message system). There are 3 options, most of them self explanatory. One of these options is "Promotion Waiting List". This is where any member with access will be able to vote for members of LOWER RANK for promotion. Basically, if your a Warrant Officer One you will be able to vote for promotions of members lower ranked then you such as Staff Sgt. However if your a Warrant Officer One, dont think you can vote for higher ranking members, because you cant. There is a chart at the very bottom of the "Promotion Waiting List" page that will hopefully help explain how much each rank equals for points and how many points you need to gain the next rank.
People will be removed from the "Promotion Waiting List" after 5 days or 3 negative votes automatically. You may also ask how does a member get on this list? To get on the "Promotion Waiting List" you just go to "Promote Member" and submit them. NOTE when going to the "Promote Member" and adding your reason that THIS WILL BE THE REASON PLACED IN THE WEBSITE LOGS IF THIS MEMBER GETS PROMOTED.
How do you vote for a member if you want to help promote them? That is quite simple, you just go to the "Promotion Waiting List", click the members name and then click the voting link below the members information. You may deny a person a promotion if you feel so with a valid reason or you may approve. Everything is logged any how.
If you find something odd or a bug private message BIGBALLER(OD) first just incase that what you do find is not a bug but more like a question or your unsure on how the system works. I will forward anything that is a "bug" to ChoBo, however I think we found them all.
In Related News but different
ChoBo removed the coming back rules on promotions, well he modified them.
Instead of someone leaving three times from the clan and having to wait a extra three weeks for their promotion, you will only have to wait a extra week for every promotion. Thus if you are a staff sgt to mwo5, you have to wait 15 days reguardless of how many times you left the clan. If your a officer, then you will be waiting 22 days.
Thanks.
